The first Lyngdorf Audio installation speakers

The D speakers bring Lyngdorf Audio sound quality to the custom installation speaker market. After the successful introduction of Lyngdorf loudspeakers for modern living rooms, ranging from the MH and FR on-wall speakers and BW boundary woofers to the CS-1 cabinet speaker, the Lyngdorf D series expands the company’s range with in-wall and in-ceiling speakers for stereo and multichannel installations.

D stands for discreet

D stands for discreet – all models are designed as installation speakers for discreet in-wall or in-ceiling integration, featuring a wall-fixing mechanism with mounting legs. All models also come with their own loudspeaker enclosure, making system planning and the actual installation as easy as possible, with no after-market backbox or closed wall cavity required. This also ensures that the sound performance is always defined and consistent, depending less on the wall construction and the available space behind the wall.

D-60 with increased power and SPL capability

The D-60 stands out in the Discreet Series for offering increased power and SPL capability while maintaining the compact form factor of the collection. With the ability to deliver 112 dB of crystal clear audio, the D-60 is the natural choice for main speakers in a performance focused surround system and also pair exceptionally well as surround speakers with the LS-1000 line source front speakers. With the D-60, one no longer has to choose between high-performance and a discreet physical presence.

Unique features

Close up of D-60
High power handling, sensitivity, and SPL

The D-60 is designed as a high-performance speaker for front, center and surround channels, especially for systems requiring high power handling, high sensitivity and a high sound pressure level (SPL). With two midrange drivers and no added woofers it requires a separate subwoofer.

Pre-mounted loudspeaker enclosure

All D-500, D-60 and D-5 models come with their own pre-mounted loudspeaker enclosure, so that no after-market backbox or closed wall cavity is required. This ensures that the sound performance is always defined and consistent, depending less on the wall construction and the available space behind the wall.

Lyngdorf Audio speaker design and drive-units

The woofers and tweeters are based on the known drive-units used in other Lyngdorf loudspeakers customized for these new models, featuring soft-dome tweeters, light aluminum cones, vented magnets, and die-cast baskets.
