Peter Lyngdorf receives CEDIA 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award
We are proud to share that Peter Lyngdorf, founder of Lyngdorf Audio and one of the most influential innovators in high-performance audio, has been named the recipient of the 2026 CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award.
The prestigious recognition celebrates an extraordinary career defined by innovation, entrepreneurship, and a lifelong ambition to bring listeners closer to music and film.
CEDIA’s Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have made a profound and lasting contribution to the professional smart home industry. For Peter Lyngdorf, the award reflects decades of challenging conventions and advancing what is possible in residential sound reproduction.
A lifetime dedicated to better sound
Peter Lyngdorf’s influence on the audio industry spans retail, loudspeaker design, amplification, digital audio, room correction, and luxury home entertainment.
From founding HiFi Klubben to establishing and developing influential audio brands including Lyngdorf Audio, DALI, and Steinway Lyngdorf, as well as co-founding Purifi, his career has been driven by a consistent belief: technology should serve the listening experience.
Among the innovations associated with his work are Equibit™, a pioneering approach to fully digital amplification, and RoomPerfect™, developed with its chief architect and creator Jan Abildgaard Pedersen. RoomPerfect™ introduced a new approach to room correction through three-dimensional room mapping and remains a defining technology in Steinway Lyngdorf systems today.
