Lyngdorf Cue-100 wins world-renowned iF DESIGN AWARD
Lyngdorf Audio is proud to announce the latest award for the high-end audio design speaker Cue-100, the world-renowned iF DESIGN AWARD 2024.
Each year, the world’s oldest independent design organization, iF International Forum Design GmbH, organizes the iF DESIGN AWARD in Berlin. The competition this year was intense: almost 11,000 entries were submitted from 72 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of design quality, and less than half of them made it to the final jury hall. The jury consisted of 132 independent experts from all over the world.
Danish design and materials, merged with the latest loudspeaker technology
With the Cue-100, Lyngdorf Audio combines modern Danish speaker design with the innovative and benchmark-setting Purifi loudspeaker technology. With materials like solid oak, satin-black or satin-white lacquered mdf and an all-around fabric cover from Danish specialist Gabriel, the Cue-100 is available in 24 color combinations to fit every living room and interior design.
Cutting through the competition
After passing the iF jury’s preselection in late 2023, two Cue-100 speakers were displayed as top finalists in the in the big iF jury hall in Berlin, to be scored over two weeks by the international 132-member design expert jury. In April 2024, Lyngdorf Audio received the official iF DESIGN AWARD 2024 for the Cue-100.
The Cue-100 award collection
This award adds to the recent accolades for the Cue-100’s audio performance, ranging from the Editor’s Choice Award 2024 from THE EAR, UK, Technology Designer’s “Best Product” Award from the USA, the Soundnews Gold Award 2023 from Romania, and the Best Of 2024 award from Germany’s audio magazine FIDELITY.
Statement from Lyngdorf Audio
“We are delighted that the Cue-100 has won the internationally renowned iF DESIGN AWARD. This award emphasizes what we wanted to achieve when creating this loudspeaker: A statement not only in sound performance, but also in merging our acoustic expertise and the outstanding Purifi technology with a new and modern Danish speaker design.” Roland Hoffmann, Product Marketing Director, Steinway Lyngdorf
“For me, it has been a very exciting and different design process compared to previous Lyngdorf projects, mostly because this design isn’t a traditional speaker design, but more like modern Danish furniture design. The manufacturing process has been exciting because of the different shape, but we haven’t made any compromises regarding the sound.” Brian Nielsen, Mechanical Design Engineer, Steinway Lyngdorf
“Not everyone has a room for listening only. The speaker is designed to be part of a home – without compromising the sound quality at all.” Søren X. Frahm, Artlinco A/S (co-designer on the Cue-100)
